About Us

Who we are

The Ideological Defense Institute (IDI) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit research and educational organization. The work of its experts seeks to restore confidence in and defend the Judeo-Christian principles that shaped Western civilization against anti-Western theological and ideological systems.

IDI produces a wide range of research and educational materials, including in-depth studies, books, policy analyses, and analytical commentary. The Institute also hosts briefings, seminars, and instructional programs designed to deepen understanding among policymakers, the church, and the public.

IDI’s work is centered on three core areas: The Middle East, Islam, and anti-Western ideological movements operating within Western societies. Its research is carried out by a network of experts, including former Muslims, Middle Eastern Christians, and Western contributors with both academic credentials and direct regional experience.

Our Vision

The Ideological Defense Institute envisions a future in which confidence in the Judeo-Christian foundational principles of Western civilization is restored, institutionally preserved, and effectively defended against ideological and theological threats.

Our Mission

The Ideological Defense Institute’s mission is to educate policymakers, the Church, and the public through unapologetic analysis of ideological, theological, and political forces that threaten the Judeo-Christian foundations of the West.

Governance & Oversight

The Ideological Defense Institute is governed by an independent Board of Directors and supported by a Board of Advisors composed of individuals with experience in policy, law, academia, theology, national security, and nonprofit governance.

Due to the nature of IDI’s work and documented security risks associated with its areas of research, the Institute does not publicly disclose the identities of all board and advisory members.

Board members serve fixed terms, provide fiduciary oversight, approve strategic direction, and ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and financial standards. Advisory members provide subject-matter guidance but do not direct research outcomes or institutional operations.
